چکیده

Introduction Congenital pulmonary vein stenosis (CPVS) is one of cardiac anomalies producing generalized pulmonary venous hypertension such as mitral stenosis, a supravalvar mitral ring, mitral regurgitation, and total anomalous pulmonary venous connection. The prognosis is poor with the development of progressive pulmonary venous congestion followed by pulmonary arterial hypertension and eventual death. The disorder is frequently overlooked during clinical examination and routine echocardiography because it is rare. Here, we report a patient with a history of cough, tachypnea and hemoptysis who was diagnosed with CPVS with a normal connection. The diagnosis was suspected based on an abnormal thoracic roentgenogram and confirmed by echocardiography, lung perfusion scanning, computerized tomography (CT) with angiogram, and cardiac catheterization with angiography.

Bilateral pulmonary vein stenting for pulmonary vein obstruction after surgical correction of total abnormal pulmonary venous connection

Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS), either acquired or congenital, is a rare condition that can lead to worsening pulmonary hypertension and cardiac failure in children, and it is frequently lethal. The condition is often progressive and is associated with poor survival (1, 2). Pulmonary vein stenting is an option for acute symptomatic relief and significant improvements in diameter, peak PA pressur...

Association of Nasal Nostril Stenosis with Bilateral Choanal Atresia: A Case Report

Introduction: Neonatal nasal airway obstruction induces various degrees of respiratory distress. The management of this disease, including surgical repair, will depend on the severity and location of the obstruction. We describe here a case of congenital nasal nostril stenosis that required surgical repair for stenting of both nares after coanal atresia repair.   Case Report: A 2 days old femal...

Interventional therapy for partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection with dual drainage

A 6-year-old boy presented with dual drainage of left upper pulmonary vein, with connection to innominate vein inaddition to its normal connection to the left atrium. Despite relief of aortic stenosis at the age of 3 years, significant left to right shunt persisted. The dual drainage allowed successful percutaneous closure of the levoatriocardinal vein without obstruction to the pulmonary venou...

Right coronary artery stenosis unmasking ischemia in a patient with bilateral coronary pulmonary fistulas

Introduction Coronary artery fistulas (CAF) are congenital or acquired formations between the coronary arteries and cardiac chambers or other vascular structures such as the vena cava, pulmonary artery, or veins [1]. Most of these are found incidentally during angiography [2]. Fistulas account for half of all coronary anomalies and are present in 0.002% of the general population. Coronary to pu...
